About the Event

“I never play music I don’t love,” says the young violin prodigy Paul Huang, but whatever he decides to play, he does so, according to the New York Times: “[with] subtlety, [and with] sense of how to shape the line dramatically but without exaggeration”.  Huang, a YCA discovery, has bonded closely with pianist Louis Schwizgebel, yet another prize winner of YCA’s talent pool and named BBC’s new generation artist 2013-15. They join forces in a trio- performance for GetClassical@ZincBar with cellist Julian Schwarz, son of the venerable conductor Gerard Schwarz. Here is a young artist, whose presentations prove plenty of musical endowment branching out on his own and in new collaborations, like this one. For the first time collaborating as a trio, they will unite in a program titled “Impressions,” presenting works that include some of the masterpieces by the “impressionist masters” Maurice Ravel and César Franck, and Francis Poulenc.
