Ilya Itin and Guelsin Onay - masters' selection (works by Rachmaninov and Debussy)

Ilya Itin: An international concert pianist and esteemed pedagogue, this Russian musician’s extraordinary artistry has convinced audiences, critics and perhaps most remarkably many of his renowned colleagues with his outstanding musicianship. Covering a broad range of repertoire ranging from Bach to Cage in sold-out recitals and his ever increasing discography, BBC TV’s Ian Burnside remarked:” I’d go to hear him play the phonebook.”

Gulsin Onay: One of Turkey’s most outstanding pianists, Onay has received numerous accolades for her international performances as a celebrated Chopin and Rachmaninov interpreter and as the foremost advocate of Turkish composer Ahmed Adnan Saygun’s work, her great mentor. As a soloist, she has been invited to perform perform with many venerable conductors, including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Andrey Boreyko, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Jose Serebrier around the world. She has also taken a special interest in giving back to society as Goodwill, cultural ambassador for UNICEF Turkey, collaborating with many artists including Maxim Vengerov and Fazil Say.
