Following the 2016 release of their debut album “First Day,” which reached #7 on the Billboard Classical Charts and was hailed by Gramophone as “brilliant,” cellist Laura Metcalf and pianist Matei Varga present a creative, eclectic program on May 15th at Zinc Bar.
Alongside favorites such as Alberto Ginastera’s fiery “Pampeana”, a gentle tango by Jose Bragato, and a beguiling chanson by Francis Poulenc, they will also perform music by acclaimed young composers Caleb Burhans, Brandon Ridenour and more. In addition, Laura will give the World Premiere of Paul Brantley’s “Parkour” for solo cello, written for her this year.
May 15th, 7.30 PM
Zinc Bar, 82 West 3rd Street (between Thompson and Sullivan)
Tickets: $20 in Advance, $25 at the door
